Here’s how to do it:
- Start with clean hair and prep with a smoothing product
- Blow dry the hair to make it smooth
- Section off the hair into relatively thin layers
- Straighten small pieces of hair, section by section, starting at the root and smoothly gliding to the ends
- Smooth the hair into a ponytail (however high you like!) and secure it with a hair elastic
- Take a small section of hair from under the ponytail and wrap it around the hair elastic. Secure this piece with bobby pins

How Do You Do an Updo with Micro Ring Extensions?
Updos with hair extensions are much easier than you might think. In fact, a lot of updos work much better with a bit of extra length and volume!
A high bun is a super simple updo to create using hair extensions. It works largely the same as creating the ponytail above, except you need to wrap the entire ponytail around the hair elastic and secure it in place with bobby pins. It’s up to you how sleek or messy to make your bun! Alternatively, scoop the hair to the base of the neck and create a chic low bun.
How about a half-up-half-down situation? This style is bang on trend right now and couldn’t be easier to do:
- Pull the front/top section of your hair into a messy bun on the top of your head and secure it with a hair elastic.
- Style the rest of your hair as desired. We think it looks great with beachy waves, though!
